2016 Scholarship Dinner

Our ever popular annual Pasta Dinner was held on Sunday, October 23rd, at the Elks Club in Burlington.  Over 100 people attend this dinner each year and enjoy an evening of camaraderie with friends and family.   Music was provided once again by VICA member John Cannizzaro.  The Elks Club prepared and served the meal, which included a salad, entree, bread (donated by Red Hen Bakery), dessert, and coffee.  A selection of Italian wines were available for those who wished to purchase them.  Dessert not only included ice cream donated by Ben and Jerry's, but an assortment of homemade Italian cookies such as pizzelli, genetti, and brutti ma buoni made by our VICA volunteers.

As has become our tradition, a silent raffle was held with items donated by local merchants.  The proceeds of this raffle benefit our Scholarship and Grants Program.
Raffle prizes were generously donated by Pizzeria Verità, Junior's,
La Villa Bistro, Leunig's, Del'Amore, Cucina Antica, Papa Franks, Trattoria Delia, The Farmhouse Group, Saratoga Olive Oil, and many VICA members.

The entire evening was a tribute to our heritage which we hold so dear.  For those of us who grew up with this type of celebration on a regular basis, this was an opportunity for us to get in touch with our roots and to immerse ourselves in the memories of days gone by.  Part of the Vermont Italian Cultural Association's (Vermont Italian Club's)  mission is to share the hospitality and warmth of our heritage with our community.
